Nottingham Gators Swim Team

In 2025, Craig is returning for his saventh year as coach of the Gators. Craig is currently the Health and Physical Education teacher at Newark Charter Primary School and a winter coach at Blue Hen Aquatics. Craig was born and raised in Newark, DE and graduated from Glasgow High School in 2007. While attending high school, Craig played lacrosse and swam, and was honored with 3 years of 1st Team All-State and 2 State Championships in the 100-yard backstroke. Upon graduating, Craig was offered a scholarship to swim at the University of Delaware under head coach John Hayman, and went on to earn 2 years of All-CAA honors. Craig coached swimming at Delaware Military Academy for 9 years, and was head coach for 6 of those years. Craig has been a State and Conference coach of the year. He enjoys bringing his valuable experience and upbeat coaching style to Nottingham Green.

Craig, his wife Amanda (who grew up as a part of the Nottingham Swim Club), and their two young daughters live in the Oaklands neighborhood and are an integral part of the Nottingham Swim Club community!

Stef is thrilled to be returning for her sixth year as Assistant Head Coach. She is mom to three Gators - Emma, Avery, and Caroline - and has been a member at Nottingham since 2015. Stef swam at Western YMCA from the ages of 6 through 18. Her coaching experience includes positions at Western YMCA and Jennersville YMCA.

Erin is so excited to be joining the Gator Coaching Staff for her fourth season. She is a mom of two young Gators, Penn and Charley.

Erin grew up swimming right down the road at Persimmon Creek from age 5-18 and was part of the coaching staff for many seasons. Erin has also coached high school Field Hockey and Lacrosse. Here’s to a fun summer, Go Nottingham Green Gators!

Brian is a lifelong gator, having swam for the team and leading it as the head coach from 1999-2015. Brian has been the Mini-Gators coach since 2021. He also swam competitively for Newark High School and Elizabethtown College. After graduating college he began teaching at Newark and Christiana High Schools and is currently the District Dean of Students for the Christina School District. His coaching career includes time with Jennersville YMCA, Newark High School and Newark Charter High School. He brings a wealth of swimming knowledge and an enthusiastic approach to working with our youngest Gators.

Since 1973, MJ has been coaching all age groups and have taught swim lessons. As a swimmer, she swam for Maple Valley, Wilmington swim school, Western YMCA and the University of Delaware. She finds the Mini Gators fun to work with and enjoys seeing the improvements that light their eyes and create big smiles.
